Browlift/Forehead Lift print

Early effects of aging can be seen in the forehead and brow region. Horizontal wrinkles, frown lines and drooping of the brows can all result in a tired, angry or sad expression.

Forehead lift surgery is aimed at reducing some of the lines and wrinkles in the forehead and elevating the brows to a higher, more youthful position.

Most often, this procedure can be performed successfully using an "endoscopic" approach. This technique allows the surgeon to work through small incision created behind the hairline. One incision can be used to introduce a narrow telescope while the other "port" can be used to introduce the instruments used to help elevate the brow. The incisions heal well and are hidden within the hair of the scalp.

Given the "limited" surgical manipulation, healing is rapid and post operative swelling resolves within days.

"Open" approaches can be performed through an incision hidden within the hairline particularly if an individual has a high hairline on evaluation.

As with any facial plastic surgical procedure, careful analysis of the eyes, forehead and brow position is necessary. Only after careful evaluation of the upper 1/3 of the face can the appropriate procedure(s) be recommended.
